The record-setting shot came from Payton Pritchard, who made a left-wing 3-pointer 3:40 into the second quarter, marking the Celtics’ 1,370th successful attempt from beyond the arc this season. This accomplishment shatters the old record of 1,369 3-pointers. The Golden State Warriors owned that record themselves, just two seasons ago.
The Celtics demonstrated their crazy shooting prowess during the game against the Suns. They shot 36 percent from downtown and drained 14 treys on 39 tries. Notably, Kristaps Porzingis contributed to tying the record with a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 9:37 remaining in the second quarter. Star players Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown delivered on the offensive end too.
