The Dallas Mavericks have announced an increase in season-ticket prices by at least 8.5 percent for the upcoming season. This marks the second such increase in two offseasons, a decision that follows the recent trade of All-Star Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for All-Star Anthony Davis. The move has sparked significant backlash from fans and has been a hot topic among national media and observers.
The Mavericks attribute the price hike to "ongoing investments in the team and fan engagement." Full-season members are promised savings of up to 23 percent compared to projected market prices next season. However, the Club Access Level, which includes premium seats and floor-area seating, will see a rise of more than 10 percent.
Additionally, some terrace level seats will increase from $20 to $24 per game. The new pricing structure aims to better reflect the value of seats in high-demand areas, with those closest to the court experiencing the highest price adjustments.
The team has emphasized that the increased revenue will enhance fan experiences by providing upgrades, access to in-game entertainment, and additional member benefits. Despite these assurances, the decision has not been without controversy. Following the high-profile trade involving Doncic and Davis, some fans have expressed dissatisfaction, questioning the team's direction and priorities.
The Mavericks released a detailed ticket cost plan on Monday morning through a news release, outlining the new pricing strategy. The organization continues to navigate the challenges posed by recent changes, aiming to balance financial growth with maintaining fan loyalty.
