Maxx Crosby Secures Lucrative Contract Extension with Las Vegas Raiders

Maxx Crosby
has agreed to a substantial three-year, $106.5 million contract extension with the Las Vegas Raiders, solidifying his place as one of the top-paid edge rushers in the NFL. This significant deal, which includes $91.5 million guaranteed, keeps Crosby with the Raiders through the 2029 season. Sources informed ESPN about the details of the extension, which averages $35.5 million per season, reflecting the Raiders’ confidence in Crosby’s abilities and future contributions.

Crosby has emerged as a formidable force in the league since being drafted by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 draft. Over his career, he has accumulated 59.5 sacks, ranking fifth most in the NFL. Within the franchise, he stands third in history for sacks, trailing only Greg Townsend and Howie Long. Prior to this extension, Crosby had two years remaining on his previous four-year agreement. The new deal underscores the Raiders' commitment to retaining key talent.

The extension details reveal that Crosby's base salary will be $22.2 million in 2025 and $18.8 million in 2026. Additionally, the Raiders have provided Crosby with a $6 million raise leading into the 2024 season. However, Crosby's 2024 campaign was cut short due to ankle surgery, after which he had recorded 45 tackles and 7.5 sacks in just 12 games.

Despite these setbacks, Crosby remains a pivotal player for the Raiders. He has been with the team for six years and is on the verge of celebrating five years of sobriety, marking a personal milestone in his life. Crosby expressed his gratitude and commitment to the franchise.

"It's an honor to be held at that high of a standard. I take that seriously." – Maxx Crosby

The Raiders are hopeful for a successful season under new general manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll. Crosby is optimistic about their chances of making it to the playoffs, driven by leadership changes and a renewed team spirit.

"We want to grow this to a place that people want to be," – John Spytek

Crosby's loyalty and dedication have not gone unnoticed by the organization. His commitment to the Raiders, even amidst challenges, speaks volumes about his character and professional integrity.

"When Maxx — and it's no secret it hasn't been sunshine and roses here — makes a commitment to the Raiders and stands for everything [we] talk about, that speaks volumes. I hope it's noticed around the league." – John Spytek
