James Gladstone has been appointed as the new general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars, signaling a fresh start for the NFL franchise. Gladstone's journey with the Rams was marked by a series of promotions that paved his way to the Jaguars. In 2018, he served as a senior assistant to the general manager and player personnel coordinator, before being elevated to the director of scouting strategy in 2019. In this role, Gladstone played a crucial part in strategic planning and executing daily scouting processes under general manager Les Snead. Notably, he was instrumental in orchestrating several key trades, including the high-profile acquisition of quarterback Matthew Stafford.
As the director of scouting strategy for the Rams over the past three seasons, Gladstone demonstrated a keen understanding of player evaluation and team building. His experience and innovative approach were pivotal in shaping the Rams' roster and competitive edge. These qualities caught the attention of Shad Khan, the owner of the Jaguars, who expressed gratitude to all candidates who interviewed for the GM position.
