Randy Moss Set to Return to ‘NFL Countdown’ After Battling Cancer

Randy Moss, the celebrated Hall of Famer, is set to make his much-anticipated return to "Sunday NFL Countdown" on Super Bowl Sunday. Moss, who stepped away from his analyst role on December 6, has been undergoing treatment for cancer. The NFL legend took a hiatus from the show to focus on his health after a cancerous mass was discovered in his bile duct, nestled between his pancreas and liver. Following a six-hour procedure to remove the mass and subsequent surgery to place a stent in his liver on Thanksgiving, Moss is now on the road to recovery.

Moss introduced himself as a cancer survivor during an Instagram Live session, expressing optimism about his return to television. At 47 years old, Moss has remained resilient through this challenging period. He will undergo radiation and chemotherapy as part of his ongoing treatment plan. Despite the health challenges, Moss is eager to rejoin his colleagues on set and continue contributing to the show.

"As soon as I get healthy to get back out with guys, I will be on set," said Randy Moss.

Moss's illustrious football career spanned 14 seasons across several teams, including the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018, a testament to his exceptional performance on the field. Notably, Moss ranks second in NFL history with an impressive 156 touchdown catches and holds the NFL record for 23 touchdown receptions in a single season, a feat he accomplished with the Patriots in 2007.

The announcement of his return adds excitement to this year's Super Bowl festivities. "Sunday NFL Countdown" will air live from New Orleans at 10 a.m. ET ahead of Super Bowl LIX, featuring a match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Moss's comeback is eagerly awaited by fans and colleagues alike.

"Hopefully, I can be with you guys soon. My goal is to get back on television with my team," Moss stated.
