Russell Wilson, the seasoned quarterback with an impressive NFL career, is currently focused on his role with the Pittsburgh Steelers as he navigates the uncertainty of free agency. With a remarkable track record, Wilson is one of only three quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for at least 2,400 yards in each of his first 13 seasons. At 36 years old, Wilson has accumulated an impressive resume, including ten Pro Bowl selections and a winning record that only trails Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, and Brett Favre in the history of the league. After returning from a calf injury that sidelined him at the start of the training camp, he started the final 11 games of the 2024 season. During that span, he completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,482 yards, throwing 16 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Additionally, he showcased his dual-threat capabilities by rushing for 155 yards and two touchdowns.
As he contemplates his future beyond this season, Wilson acknowledged the possibility of staying with the Steelers. Team president Art Rooney II has indicated a desire to keep either Wilson or Justin Fields on a multiyear deal. Wilson expressed his eagerness to remain with the team, stating, "I'm looking forward to hopefully going back to the Steelers and we'll see what happens with the rest."

He stated, "I have been fortunate to play for over 13 years and have a lot more ball left in me." Reflecting on his career, Wilson remarked, "I remember being here my rookie year and being around guys like Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Peyton and Eli Manning. And I remember how grateful I was. Ten Pro Bowls later, it's still a blessing."
Recently, Wilson received recognition as an alternate for the Pro Bowl Games after Buffalo's Josh Allen withdrew due to injury. His addition to this prestigious event further cements his status as one of the league's elite quarterbacks. Teammate Brock Bowers praised Wilson's impact on the team, stating, "He said he's great, he's awesome and he brings a lot of energy to practices."
Wilson’s focus remains steadfast on the Steelers as he prepares for potential playoff performances. Although speculation about reuniting with Coach Carroll has surfaced, Wilson has chosen to deflect those inquiries, emphasizing his commitment to Pittsburgh’s success. He remarked on Coach Carroll's achievements: "Coach Carroll has won a lot and has a lot of football knowledge, so I'm excited to see what happens."
