Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker is facing serious allegations of inappropriate behavior as nine massage therapists from the Baltimore area have come forward with accusations against him. The allegations have surfaced following a report by the Baltimore Banner, which detailed accounts from six therapists and highlighted a troubling pattern of misconduct that reportedly occurred between 2012 and 2016, during Tucker’s first five seasons in the NFL.
The latest revelations include three additional massage therapists from a downtown Baltimore men's spa, bringing the total number of accusers to nine. One of the women involved presented an internal report from 2015 detailing her experiences with Tucker, suggesting that concerns about his conduct have persisted over the years. Despite reaching out to a reporter regarding these allegations in 2015, Tucker did not pursue the matter further due to fears of potential retaliation.
At 35 years old, Tucker is a seven-time Pro Bowler and is regarded as the most accurate kicker in NFL history. However, his impressive career is now overshadowed by these allegations. The Ravens organization has issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to taking such allegations seriously: "We take any allegations of this nature seriously and will continue to monitor the situation."
The NFL is also paying close attention to the unfolding situation. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy stated, "We take any allegation seriously and will look into the matter." This scrutiny could lead to potential disciplinary action under the league's personal conduct policy if the accusations are substantiated.
Compounding the severity of the situation, two spas have banned Tucker from returning due to complaints about his behavior. Several therapists have also expressed their refusal to work with him again, citing discomfort stemming from their experiences. The owner of the spa where the latest allegations originated claimed to be unaware of any previous complaints against Tucker.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh has previously emphasized the team's zero-tolerance policy for misconduct when addressing issues related to player behavior. This stance has drawn attention in light of recent incidents involving other players in the league.
Tucker has maintained his innocence, with his legal team instructing the Baltimore Banner to reference his social media post from Thursday, in which he labeled the allegations as "unequivocally false." As these serious claims continue to develop, both the Ravens and the NFL are monitoring the situation closely.
