Rising Stars Shine at Senior Bowl: Defensive Linemen Steal the Spotlight

The Senior Bowl, an exclusive showcase for upperclassmen prospects, has returned to Mobile with a fresh lineup of talent vying for attention ahead of the 2025 NFL draft. As scouts and coaches gather to evaluate potential draftees, the spotlight is firmly on the defensive line group, considered the strength of this year's draft class. Nine defensive linemen on Senior Bowl rosters boast first- or second-round grades, setting the stage for a competitive display of skills.

Among those making a strong impression are Shemar Stewart from Texas A&M, Mike Green from Marshall, and Walter Nolen from Ole Miss. Each of these first-round talents demonstrated their prowess during both team and individual drills, living up to their high expectations. Meanwhile, Jalen Milroe of Alabama and Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss experienced inconsistent performances on Day 1, while Seth Henigan from Memphis emerged as the most consistent quarterback, making his mark early in the week.

Joshua Farmer of Florida State, Donovan Ezeiruaku of Boston College, and Mike Green stood out by winning numerous one-on-one matchups, further solidifying their status as top prospects. Additionally, Aireontae Ersery from Minnesota and Wyatt Milum from West Virginia showcased their potential as first-round selections, impressing scouts with their on-field prowess.

Jalen Royals from Utah State has been ranked as the top receiver at the Senior Bowl, adding intrigue to the offensive lineup. Meanwhile, Josh Conerly Jr. emerged as a big winner on Day 1, capturing attention with his standout performance.

The Senior Bowl will officially kick off on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on NFL Network. However, fans and scouts can catch practice coverage on ESPNU/ESPN App and ESPN2/ESPN App on Wednesday and Thursday, offering a closer look at these promising athletes as they compete for a spot in the upcoming NFL draft.
