As of now, Beal has two years and $110 million remaining on his contract after this season. The seasoned player is averaging 17.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game this season. In a recent game against the Charlotte Hornets, Beal logged 31 minutes off the bench, contributing 10 points and five assists. In a standout performance against the Philadelphia 76ers, Beal scored 25 points off the bench, marking his first game in a reserve role in nine years. After the game against the 76ers, Beal confirmed that he had not received any communication from the team regarding trade matters.
The Suns have been linked to Jimmy Butler following his suspension by the Miami Heat, who are exploring trade possibilities for him. However, due to trade restrictions as a second apron team with a $216 million payroll, Phoenix faces significant obstacles in acquiring Butler. With these constraints, Beal's no-trade clause becomes even more pivotal.
Bartelstein emphasized Beal's commitment to maintaining control over his career trajectory, stating that Beal would never relinquish his no-trade clause. Beal himself echoed this sentiment, declaring, "I hold the cards," should any trade scenario arise involving him.
