In Week 10 of the NFL season, several players made significant contributions, showcasing their potential and solidifying their roles on their respective teams. Marvin Harrison Jr. had the best game of his young career against the New England Patriots. Veteran QB Joe Flacco continued to make a strong case that he’s the Bengals’ QBOTF. Players like Devin Singletary, Dalton Schultz, and others made headlines for their impressive performances and contributions on the field.
We don’t need to rehash how Marvin Harrison Jr. performed as a rookie wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. He racked up a phenomenal 20.2 points, despite the loss to New England. Against Arizona, he saw five targets and caught four of those targets for 42 yards. By scoring two touchdowns, he became an important weapon in the Colts’ offense. He’s a touchdown machine, a knack that drives fantasy football players wild. The longer he keeps up the act, the better he plays, and the more certainty he represents for their squads.
Joe Flacco’s Revival
After years of under-performance Joe Flacco is back and he’s been turning heads, giving rise to great speculation from fans and pundits. Over that trio of starts, Jones has shone bright, averaging 59 fantasy points and 24 actual points per contest. This resurgence has coincided with the Bengals’ strategic decision to lean heavily on Flacco’s passing ability. He’s been averaging well over 43 pass attempts a game. So far, this performance has cemented his reputation as a volume thrower who spreads the football well.
Flacco’s experience and poise have made a noticeable impact on the Bengals’ offense. His rapport with wide receivers has resulted in a spike in production during what’s been an otherwise brutal season for the team. Flacco’s leadership as they hope to continue building off of their success from the past few weeks will be key to the Bengals’ playoff hopes.
Emerging Talents and Consistent Contributors
Devon Singletary only continued to prove he is a versatile weapon by doing the bulk of his damage as a receiver in Week 10. He caught three passes for 53 yards, solidifying his place as a versatile, dual-threat running back. In his first three years, he showed he can be an asset on the ground and in the air. That versatility provides the Buffalo Bills with a great weapon as they attempt to navigate the second half of the season.
The other player to keep an eye on is Johnson, who’s scored a touchdown in three of his last four contests. His elite scoring threat alone opens everything up for his team offensively. Defenses need to prepare for him in key situations.
The Dallas Cowboys’ defense was the talk of the town along with the offense during their recent performances. They managed to score 13 or more points in two of the last three games. In those same games, they logged four or more sacks. When the Cowboys lock down on D, they significantly increase their chances of winning. This strength grabs the attention of the fantasy football owners out there looking for a reliable defensive unit.
Notable Injuries and Their Impact
As teams prepare themselves for these next three very important weeks, the injury bug still looms heavy. Now Dalton Schultz of the Dallas Cowboys is working through a shoulder injury. Because of that, he’s missed practice completely this week. Though Schultz suffered a major defeat, he was undeterred. He was rewarded with an impressive performance, scoring 18.3 points in Week 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, pushing him solidly into the TE1 conversation. He’s been scoring down the stretch, having notched at least 13 points and six catches in three of his last four contests. This stellar performance speaks to his reliability.
At the same time, McCarthy has established himself as a player to watch. He scored a whopping 22.22 points in that Week 1 victory vs Chicago. The rookie from Oklahoma has kept his head down through recent weeks, with a minimum of five carries in each of his last two games, including a touchdown run in one of them. That’s a far cry from his 6.1 targets/game average this season. This illustrates that he is making himself a key cog of the offense.
Jordan Love still turning heads with his productive, volume throwing. During the past month, he has dropped numbers so big they’ve boosted him to being one of the top quarterbacks. His relationship with Watson puts on full display Love’s talents as a passer and playmaker. In case you were wondering, Watson is averaging a ridiculous 23.5 yards per reception over those last three contests.
