On Tuesday, the Memphis Grizzlies made that dream come true! Clarke is expected to return from his right knee injury in six to nine weeks. Clarke is still in the process of recovering from an arthroscopic surgery. This surgical procedure is intended to reduce inflammation of the synovium in his right knee.
Clarke, now 29, was one of the key figures in the last campaign. He played in 64 games in 2022-23 and was a starter in 18 of those games. Over the course of the season, he averaged 8.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. On the field, his impact for the team was immense, as Lynn offered depth and versatility in the forward position.
Clarke’s performance was hampered by injuries. He missed over half of the 2022-23 season due to a torn left Achilles tendon. This injury severely affected his ability to contribute on a consistent basis. Sadly, he finds himself up against much of the same this season. To date, he has yet to appear in a contest for the Grizzlies this season as he’s still recovering from his knee injury.
Clarke is a productive player on a third year of a four-year deal with the Grizzlies for $12.5 million per season. Through this contract, the franchise is betting on his upside and impact on the team on the court. As he moves closer to returning, both Clarke and the franchise remain hopeful that he can regain his form and contribute effectively when he steps back onto the court.
